Out of the Woods was first set up in 2006, when owner Ross Halliday became “frustrated with the lack of good quality fast food on the go” in Leeds.
Ten successful years later, Out of the Woods is an established food and coffee shop in Leeds, priding itself on creating exciting, healthy and delicious food and drinks, with an emphasis on fantastic local suppliers. “We concentrate on improving the quality of our coffee, working with a local roastery, and using local, organic milk” says Ross.
Due to the success of its first location at Water Lane, within the Holbeck Urban Village, there is now a second site, by the beautiful redeveloped project at the canal basin Granary Wharf. Both locations were carefully chosen and are situated in sympathetically regenerated areas of Leeds.
The coffee shops feature interiors with wooden floors and walls, where little woodland creatures – models of course – are dotted around, in the company of 82 hanging light bulbs and low background music. As Ross puts it, it all helps to, “create a small intimate area with a very relaxed atmosphere.”
“There is free Wi-Fi in both our shops, and our new Granary Wharf site has got an amazing view. It’s an opportunity for freelancers to sit and work with delicious coffee to hand, looking out over the canal basin.”
